Four Seasons construction at Casa de Campo advancing rapidly

Construction of the 196-room Four Season Casa de Campo Resort continues at a rapid pace. The site is buzzing with over 700 workers putting in 7-day work weeks and into the night to open the resort on schedule in the winter of 2009.

The construction of the Four Seasons Casa de Campo comes at a time when despite world economic conditions the nation is experiencing a spurt in the development of luxury resorts. The country has been moving away from its all-inclusive label as foreign and local investors are building eight upscale and boutique resorts to open between 2009 and 2010. The Four Seasons brand will match the Casa de Campo’s reputation for having some of the top golf courses in the world and the best in the Caribbean with reputably one of the best luxury hotel brands in the world.

Puntacana Resort & Club nominated by Conde Nast Traveller

Condé Nast Traveler has named PUNTACANA Resort & Club as a finalist in the magazine‘s 2008 World Savers Awards. The judges rated how applicants exercise social responsibility in five key areas: poverty alleviation, cultural and/or environmental preservation, education, wildlife conservation, and health. Thirty-eight finalists were selected and the final winners were determined by compiling the judges‘ overall rankings.

Puntacana Resort & Club was created with a vision for social and environmental sustainability and continues its commitment to balancing economic growth with the health and well-being of the local community and environment. In addition, the resort's villas are situated to take advantage of natural breezes and existing vegetation, with design elements that reduce direct sunlight and solar heat. A large portion of the resort features thatch roofs, a local material that maintains interior air temperature and reduces need for air conditioning and new pilots are being conducted using solar hot water heaters and energy saving technologies throughout the resort. High ceilings and tall windows also allow for natural light to replace artificial lighting for the longest period of time possible.
